CHURCH MINISTRIES & COMMITTEES

At Penney Memorial Church we offer a wide variety of programs that members can join. Below you will see the many programs and ministries our church has to offer.

Membership / Fellowship Committee

PMC has a very active membership committee. Along with fellowship, the membership committee has a quarterly residents tea for new members of the community, ice cream socials, potluck dinners, and more. If you are interested in being part of this committee, or would like more information about becoming a member of PMC please contact

Audio Visual Team

Penney Memorial Church has a team of Audio Visual professionals that work tirelessly to bring residents and off campus viewers and member "LIVE" feed from many church events including Sunday Morning Worship services.  The AV team is also responsible for information posted on Penney Memorial Church TV channel 901, as well as all taping of Celebration of Life Services and events.

Social Concerns

Social Concerns is the ministry of PMC that is responsible for carrying out the part of our covenant concerning laboring for the progress of knowledge, the promotion of justice, and the realization of human community. This includes showing love for our neighbors by addressing human need among the less fortunate (e.g. collecting food for the Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs), promoting reconciliation (e.g. presenting programs about MLK and Black History, the importance of accessible voting for all in order to preserve our democracy, etc.), working toward peace with justice (e.g. holding an annual Peace With Justice Weekend, celebrating the International Day of Peace on September 21st, planting Peace Poles on the campus, and supporting Fair Trade and Koinonia Farm Sales), and providing guidance concerning the care of God’s creation (e.g. helping to recycle Styrofoam and work to make PMC Styrofoam-free). In short, Social Concerns helps us “put feet to our faith,” and live out Jesus’ teachings.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is responsible for annually preparing a slate of nominees from the church membership for all the leadership positions in Penney Memorial Church. Our new leadership is elected at the annual Congregational meeting in January. The Committee is glad to hear from any of the Church’s members interested in serving in a Church leadership role.
